The Summer’s Night Dream: A 297 Sq. Ft. Teacup Tiny Home Near Toronto

This is a Summer’s Night Dream, a 26-foot, 297-square-foot four-season model built by Teacup Tiny Homes in 2022, and it sold as a package deal: the house plus its spot in phase one of an all-season tiny home resort in the Greater Toronto Area. The setting is the draw — a 40-plus-acre property of mature trees and three small lakes, with the lot itself holding 30 feet of waterfront.

Location was the other half of the pitch. It sits ten minutes from downtown Dundas, twenty from the Aldershot and Hamilton GO stations and VIA rail, eight from the Dundas Conservation Authority, and two minutes from the Hamilton-Brantford rail-trail — close enough to commute, far enough to feel rural.

Inside, the layout is more flexible than most homes this size. There’s a loft bedroom plus a main-floor flex room that can serve as a ground-floor bedroom, and a dedicated office area across from the kitchen, which carries an oven, microwave, and refrigerator. The build is both CSA and RVIA certified and inspected — the dual certification that matters for a home living permanently in Canada.

Editor’s note: this home was listed at $174,000 in late 2023, with the lot lease paid through March 2024, and it has sold. We’ve kept the tour up as a reference on four-season builds and resort lot leases. Current listings are below.

What a Four-Season Build Requires

  • Four-season is a construction spec, not a marketing word. Surviving an Ontario winter takes insulation values, sealed envelopes, and protected plumbing that fair-weather builds skip.
  • CSA and RVIA certification both matter in Canada. Dual certification widens where the home can legally sit and makes financing and insurance far easier.
  • A flex room is worth more than a second loft. A main-floor room that can be a bedroom, office, or guest space adapts as your life does.
  • Check how far the lot lease is prepaid. A lease paid through a set date is real value transferring with the sale — and a renewal date you need to diary.
  • Transit access is what makes rural tiny living workable. Being twenty minutes from a GO station is the difference between a weekend retreat and a primary residence.
