Their Under-$20K Luxury Bus Conversion

This post contains affiliate links.

Anna and Josh spent four years converting their Bluebird bus into an incredible luxury tiny house on wheels. Because they took their time, they made the bus exactly how they wanted it to be and kept the build budget under $20,000!

While they’ve done plenty of travel in the bus, they’re currently “home” in Napa Valley on family land. They have an awesome covered porch area on-site, complete with a king-sized bed — outside — where they can relax and enjoy the views! Enjoy the tour of their splendid space below.

Details:

  • Anna’s brother and a friend converted a skoolie back in 2009 that ran off of alternative fuel, which was the first thing that inspired Anna to believe in skoolie life.
  • It took Anna and Josh about four years to convert their skoolie because they took some time off here and there. All in all, they think they could have completed it in a year of continuous work.
  • Incredibly, they spent under $20K on the build! Much of the furniture and cabinetry is custom-made by Josh, who has carpentry experience.
  • The skoolie includes a studio area so Josh can work on making music.
  • There’s oodles of storage beneath the bus, which is one reason why they loved this model.
