Mike’s Chevy Express 3500 Short Bus Life

This post contains affiliate links.

Mike was living his Wall Street life working in finance and running a million miles a minute. But then COVID sent him home, and he spent 150 days traveling the US in his car. That experience changed him, and he realized he couldn’t go back to “normal” life again.

So he ended up buying and building out a short bus — his Chevy Express 3500 — and decorated the interior with small-business finds from Etsy. One of the coolest features of his bus is the propane fire pit he can put on his roof-top deck so he can stay warm and cozy even during a fire ban. Pretty neat.

    re — AGMs
2003,we converted a 1997 Ford CF8000 commercial truck to our concept of an ExpeditionVehicle.
Nearly two decades full-time live-aboard, our AGM bank is going strong.
We rarely empty it beyond 97% (ninety-seven percent).
Early on, we realized we could eliminate the complexity of new-fangled technology by reducing our electric use.

I love buses so much, and this one is so cool! Love the floor design and the colors. It looks so cozy, especially for the dog. You did a great job!

Like your cozy bus. Saw your sticker, especially the one of the Tetons, I have been up there and Jackson Hole, a few times, one of them was a group trip that we rubber rafted down the Snake River. That was fun. What a great life, traveling around the country.
