Escape eOne XL Wide: A Full Foot Wider Than a Standard eOne

The eOne XL Wide is exactly what its name says: a full twelve inches wider than a standard eOne, and that single foot changes the whole feel of the interior. Combined with the model’s towering height and oversized windows, it produces a main floor with nearly eight feet of usable width for furniture — enough that a sofa and a walkway can coexist, which is not a given in a THOW.

Upstairs, the main loft has genuine headroom and a walkway leads to a second, equally well-appointed loft. The all-electric kitchen is the other standout: an induction cooktop, oven, tall fridge/freezer, microwave, a spacious stone countertop, and — unusually — a full-sized dishwasher, with a built-in laundry centre alongside.

Editor’s note: this unit was listed with a $14,800 discount in early 2024, sited in ESCAPE’s Florida village, and it has sold. The eOne XL is still built to order — current listings are linked below.

Design Details

  • Model: ESCAPE eOne XL Wide — 12 inches wider than a standard eOne
  • Living area with nearly 8 ft of width for furnishings
  • Two lofts joined by a walkway; main loft with substantial headroom
  • All-electric kitchen: induction cooktop, oven, tall fridge/freezer, microwave, full-sized dishwasher, stone countertop
  • Built-in laundry centre
  • Oversized windows throughout
  • Original listing: sold with a $14,800 discount (2024, sold)

What One Extra Foot Buys

  • Width is the dimension you feel. Length adds rooms; width decides whether you can walk past the sofa. Twelve inches across an 8-ft box is a big proportional gain.
  • Over-width means permits to move it. Anything past 8.5 ft needs an escorted transport, so plan to site it once.
  • A full-sized dishwasher is a statement of intent. It signals a home designed to sit and be lived in rather than towed around.
  • Two lofts plus a walkway make an upstairs. Connected lofts can hold a bedroom and an office; separate ones hold a bed and a pile of boxes.
