This adorable family started their nomadic lifestyle in a bus — but it was too big for them! Originally, the couple was looking for freedom, tired of working tirelessly to afford rent in LA. Then they traded the bus for a minivan and absolutely loved traveling and the lower cost of living.
With their daughter getting older, they upgraded to this 2006 Sprinter van which they converted beautifully into a functional space for the three of them (and their cat!). There’s an IKEA couch in the back which quickly converts into a family bed in the evenings. Oh, and a basketball hoop pops up from the roof when they are stationary — so cool!

I wonder why they chose to mount the hoop above windows. Hopefully the windows are non-breakable. Even that ladder can deflect a ball headed for the basket. Looks like this family thought of safety for their child with the design.
The rear of the van is the only straight vertical space and wouldn’t get in the way of the solar panels, etc. on the roof when folded down… and the hoop sticks out past the ladder…
Oh my gosh! I love his accent! What a sweet family (and precious little one), and what a lovely home. It’s beautiful! The basketball hoop makes you the new “cleverest use of space” winner, and you are right about us making the difference in our neighborhoods and not waiting for someone else to do it. God bless all your efforts. You guys be safe : )
Great comments at the end! “Break free” and if you see something that needs to be done, be the one to step up and do it! Happy journey, family! And ❤️ the basketball 🏀 hoop!
