Familys $50K Van Conversion For Trips

Greg and Maria purchased this van intending to convert it, but Greg almost resold it because he was so overwhelmed by what a conversion would entail! Thankfully, a friend of his encouraged him not to give up, and the results of sticking to it are incredible! This family-friendly van conversion has safe seating for the four of them, and a Lagun table and swivel chairs so they can sit and eat together.

They chose to have a fixed bed in the back of the van for mom and dad, and their boys sleep in a tent since they only use the van for vacations and weekends away. Across from their kitchen, they included a bathroom with a shower stall and removable toilet. They can get more than five minutes of hot water! Let us know which feature of this van you love the most.

Highlights:

  • This couple built their family an amazing van conversion for $50,000! $25K went to the van purchase, and the other $25K was for the conversion itself.
  • They travel part-time in the rig, and set up a tent for their elementary-aged boys to sleep in, since they stay in campgrounds.
  • The couple has a full-sized memory foam mattress in the back of the bus.
  • To keep clean, they added a shower stall with a removable portable toilet.
  • For safety, they added another bench seat for the boys. The front chairs swivel around to create an awesome family dining table!
