Our story goes all the way back to when OHV founder, Aaron Pfadt, rebuilt his 1968 Corvette Stingray. A few years later, he was on to Detroit and his early career in engineering transmission systems for GM and Chrysler, while competitively racing Corvettes on the side.

After that, while continuing to race, he got the entrepreneurial bug and launched a business that engineered and produced race suspension parts. After some success, he decided to take suspension to the next frontier: offroad van builds. It’s safe to say, automotive engineering is in our DNA.

Back when we started in 2016, our background in engineering and performance suspension design led us to approach our van builds more from the angle of airplane construction than that of a home builder.

From overhead cabinets to wall panels to our galleys, we precision engineer aluminum and aluminum composites for the obvious benefits over carpenter-style wood builds.

For off-road performance, we also innovate with industry-first designs like our Limited Slip Differential that improves the traction performance of the Sprinter platform, and our finely tuned lift and suspension kits that expand where you can drive your van.

Currently, we deliver about 50 vans per year, but in the next 5 years, we would love to see that number double as more and more van owners make the switch to Off Highway Van.

The Doc Holliday is one of the only adventure vans on the market with the ability to sleep and seat 5+ people. To do this, our three-person Rambler Seat converts between a 3-person belted seat and a second queen bed; this seat is the lynchpin that makes the Doc Holliday such a versatile campervan.

By day, haul family and friends along the highways, byways, and “my ways” of the natural world. Then at night, when it’s time to rest up for a big day tomorrow, convert the seat to an additional queen bed big enough for two adults or three smaller kids. With this key feature, you get a people mover and a remote backcountry lodge all in one van.
