The Barn at Tiny Digs: A Pet-Friendly Little Red Barn Tiny House in Portland

Reset A− A+ The Barn at Tiny Digs is a little red barn on wheels in Northeast Portland, and it’s one of the original tiny houses that opened with the hotel back in 2016. It gives you all the fun of a farm stay with none of the chores.

It’s also one of only two pet-friendly houses at Tiny Digs, so well-behaved dogs and cats can come along. Inside you’ll find reclaimed 100-year-old barn wood, denim and Americana colors, and a few farmyard surprises.

Through the Dutch Door

A custom Dutch barn door opens into the living area. Below the windows, the walls are wainscoted in reclaimed barn wood that’s about a century old, and a drop-down counter with tractor-seat stools serves as the dining table.

An Apron-Sink Farmhouse Kitchenette

The kitchenette has an apron-front farmhouse sink, a red kettle, and pegboard-style hooks for mugs. It’s set up for light cooking, with a mini fridge, coffee maker, and dishes.

A Living Room with a Cowhide Chair

The front of the house is the living room, with a red bench seat, a cowhide chair, and barn lantern pendant lights. The wide, deep stairs are better than a ladder. They have cubby shelves built in and clothes-hanging space beside them.

A Queen Loft Under the Gambrel Roof

Up the stairs, the classic gambrel barn roof creates a roomy queen loft lined in warm wood, with vintage fruit-crate art on the walls.

A Whiskey-Barrel Bathroom Vanity

The bathroom vanity is a whiskey barrel topped with a hammered copper sink, which might be the most photographed detail on the property.

• The Finlandia (280 sq ft): 280 sq ft Scandinavian design with two lofts. The biggest house on the lot, sleeping up to five.

• The Boho Wagon (150 sq ft): 150 sq ft bohemian wagon with a bowed cedar roof and a canopied main-floor bed. Pet-friendly, no loft.
• The Rock ‘n’ Roll (230 sq ft): 230 sq ft 1950s theme with vinyl, a rotary phone, a fireplace, and a skylit loft.
