If you love Victorian shabby chic, the Cottage at Tiny Digs is the one to book. It has gingerbread gable trim, leaded and stained-glass windows, a copper weathervane, and a big covered front porch, all on a 180-square-foot tiny house.

Inside, early-1900s furniture and architectural salvage do most of the work. An antique hutch is the kitchen, a chandelier hangs over the table, and a white mantel frames the fireplace, but you still get modern heat, air-conditioning, and a hot shower.

A Covered Porch Made for Morning Coffee

The porch is the Cottage’s front room. A Dutch-style door, white spindle railings, and a wicker chair make it an easy place to sit outside and watch the rest of the Tiny Digs courtyard wake up.

A White Living Room with a Fireplace

The living room is all white shiplap, floral fabrics, and plate-wall collections. The fireplace is electric, but the carved mantel and candlesticks make it feel like the real thing, and on a rainy Portland night it’s the heart of the house.

An Antique Hutch Becomes the Kitchen

Instead of new cabinetry, the kitchenette lives inside an antique oak hutch with glass doors, a galvanized wash basin, crystal glassware, china, and an induction cooktop. It’s a clever way to get storage and character in one piece of furniture.

Stairs to a Romantic Loft

White storage stairs with turned balusters lead up to a queen loft tucked under the roof, finished with patchwork quilts and a small wall sconce. The stair treads hide storage, which matters in a house this size.

  • A porch extends the house: A covered porch adds outdoor living space for very little cost.
  • Storage stairs: Stair treads that open into storage are almost always worth it in a tiny house.
  • White makes busy decor work: All-white walls let the antiques and florals stand out without feeling cluttered.
