If you’ve been around Tiny House Talk for a while, you’ve likely heard of John and Fin. This couple runs off-grid workshops, tiny house meetups, and their organization, United Tiny Homes, has donated thousands to charity! Oh, and they run a whole Airbnb resort in Georgia with several tiny homes they’ve designed and built.
But have you ever toured the home that started it all? The “Beloved Cabin” is their shed-to-house conversion, which they built 12 years ago and have been improving ever since. Most recently, they added a spacious greenhouse bathroom and kitchen which you’re going to love! Check out the whole tour below.

VIDEO: Unbelievable $6k Shed Makeover: Shabby Chic Off-Grid Homestead!
Highlights:
- John and Fin have lived tiny for the past 12 years in the “Beloved Cabin” they transformed into a homestead.
- The cabin came to them as a well-built shell, and they’ve gone through three or four major renovations to get it to where it is today.
- They no longer sleep in the loft bedroom as it was getting more challenging for John the older he gets. Instead, there’s a full-sized bed/couch in the living room.
- To expand the once-dark and tiny kitchen, they added on a greenhouse that goes the entire length of the house! It’s a greenhouse, kitchen and there’s even a koi pond for fun.
- There’s also a greenhouse bathroom, where they have a clawfoot tub and a biogas toilet that filters into their biogas tank.
