Meet Hambone & the Hippie — a #vanlife couple who builds gorgeous vans and later sells them! They don’t do custom orders, but recently sold their “April” conversion which features an amazing off-grid system AND a shower/toilet.
They insulated the van with wool, and there’s a marine fridge in the kitchen area. Under the bed is plenty of garage storage, and everything has been decorated in a gorgeous, modern fashion.
Enjoy the photo and video tour of this great build below, and get ideas for your own van creation!

VIDEO: Off-Grid Van Tour
From the Builders:
Well, she’s finished. I don’t think either of us thought we would be so sad to make that statement!! We’ve already travelled her to thirteen states & she’s ready for more. “April”, as we’ve named her, was an exhausting project, but a complete labor of love.
Our Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is packed with only the finest, from it’s Espar Diesel Heater, to the Battleborn Lithium batteries, to the 480w of Renogy Solar. She’s outfitted with not one, but two Maxx Air Delux Fans & she’s a fully outfitted with a Victron Energy System for a complete off-grid experience, with optional shore power.
Every nook & cranny is completely insulated with organic Havelock Wool & just the right amount of sound deadening from Kilmat USA. Our gorgeous marine fridge stays fully stocked, drawing just 3 amp hours all day, everyday. I think we can both say we love our clean, modern, van, complete with a stand up shower, which is outfitted with an electric 4.5 gallon Bosch heater; or if you prefer, swivel the sink out the side door to hose your feet or your pet’s feet with hot or cold water, before hopping inside the van.
The black matte hardware added just enough sleek-elegance, while keeping everything within a modern farmhouse feel. This high roof, luxury build, gives the comfort of home, with only the finest amenities within reach.

Beautiful! But, boy, do I want to put a fold-out countertop on the end of the sink vanity.
That would be a great idea.
