Her Self-Built Mom and Daughter Tiny House

This single mom wanted a way to raise her daughter in their own space, and regular homeownership was out of the question financially. But a DIY tiny home? Stephanie knew she could do it if she committed herself! And she did!

For the past six years, she’s been living with her daughter in their custom house on wheels, and just recently she was able to move the tiny house onto their very own piece of land! They have a whole off-grid set-up and love the freedom of this lifestyle. Watch their tour below.

Her DIY Tiny House on Her Own Land!

Inside Stephanie’s DIY tiny house, you’ll find a thoughtfully designed main living area. This space features two huge benches with storage, offering both practicality and comfort to their tiny living experience.

As you explore the layout of their tiny home, you’ll discover that it provides separate bedrooms for both mom and daughter. Stephanie’s bedroom is situated in one part of the house, while her daughter’s bedroom is located across the house, ensuring privacy and personal space for each family member.

One of the delightful features of their tiny abode is the bathroom, which boasts an awesome clawfoot tub. This luxurious addition adds a touch of elegance to their tiny living setup, making their home even more inviting and comfortable.

Highlights:

  • Stephanie wanted a place to live with and raise her daughter, but knew homeownership was out of the question financially. However, she could swing a DIY tiny house — so she did!
  • She had a contractor help her build the shell, and she was able to take it from there, saying the entire experience was so empowering.
  • They’ve been living tiny now for 6 years, and just recently moved the tiny house on their own off-grid piece of land!
  • The tiny house has two loft bedrooms connected by a catwalk, and a huge bathroom with a clawfoot tub.
  • In total, the house price came to about $100,000.
