  1. This truly the most innovative home/lifestyle set up I’ve ever seen. It’s is so cool to share a common space with others. I would like to see this as a concept to explore all over the world. Does anyone see the outstanding potential this has? I think life would would be so much easier when people live and work together.

Technically, living in a one home community setting is not a new way of life. Imagine how much cheaper it would be to live in one building sharing utilities, taxes and more. If only we can all get alone.

I really love the design it’s perfect!

  2. I love everything about this place, the design is amazing. I would definitely stay here if I go . Convenience in location is a big deal for me . You sold this well

      1. I would absolutely live in a space like this. Room to live, relax, and interact.

I’ve read studies that indicate solitary living is very bad for depression, health, Etc.

Even if you’re an introvert, just having people around, making noise, and living in closer proximity helps.

  3. Forgot to mention:

The link above took me to a tiny space by R3Architetti.
The all steel stairs are striking, and make an excellent visual element.

But one slip, stubbed toe, or moment of dizziness, and down you go, to a head injury, and very possibly a broken rib on the edge of those steel plate treads on the way down.

In my personal feeling, This Zoku is a much more life-friendly space. It has a handrail for safety, and more wood than metal. There is a couch for guests, rather than the snobbish imposition of “in this house we sit on the floor. Period.”

Even in Japan, they have actual stools and chairs nowadays. They acknowledge the comfort of a guest in a home, not just the stricture of an imposed lifestyle.
