Rosa is one incredible person! While some people might be able to live out of a car for a season, Rosa has done it for six years and has no intentions of stopping. For the first five years, she did a mix of seasonal and gig work, but her YouTube channel took off enough last year that she can do it full-time now.
She lives in her Honda Element and “converted” the vehicle for under $200 with some lumber from Home Depot. Her setup is zip-tied to the back so she can remove it if she ever wants to resell the car. It is the same reversible idea behind this no-drill Honda Pilot camper build. You’ll love her low-budget conversion and amazing outlook on life below.

How She’s Been Car Camping Since 2017

Her bed can be converted into a couch, but she never does.

She cooks and eats on the back tailgate of the vehicle.

Six years later, she has no plans to return to an ordinary way of life.

VIDEO: 6 Years of Car Living – Her Honda Element as a Tiny Home
Highlights:
- Rosa entered the workforce immediately after high school, working three jobs and 80-hour workweeks for four years.
- She was living in an apartment and, after watching a documentary about someone living in their car, decided that life in their car was for her.
- After researching, she discovered that most people recommended a Honda Element, so she went car shopping and made a basic conversion for under $200.
- The entire car conversion is secured with zip ties so she can remove it and resell the vehicle, but after six years, she’s pretty sure it’s going to stay the way it is.
- She intentionally kept the car’s exterior very basic to improve her stealth-camping odds and keep her belongings safe.
