He Turned His Station Wagon into a Camper

Have you ever considered turning your car or compact station wagon into a micro cabin? Then consider how this man made his Skoda Octavia vehicle into a micro-camper!

He started out by simply folding down the backseats to create room for the custom camping equipment that he built for the car. It consists of a sink, storage, and a sleeping platform. See how it all works below!

Turning his Station Wagon into a Micro Camper

One of the first steps is to simply fold down the seats of the vehicle to maximize the space. If you’re going to camp in a car, a station wagon is one of the best choices.

Next, custom shelving for storage was built and added to the vehicle. This will make it easy to store and retrieve items without clutter and hassle.

And yes, even a little vanity with a sink and paper towel holder was added to the conversion. It’s accessed from the rear. With more time, one might even be able to design and build a pull-out camping kitchen too!

And finally, there’s the all-important bed platform. Car camping is a great way to enjoy the outdoors without having to backpack or hike into a remote location. It also allows you to bring along more gear and supplies than you could carry on your back, making it a great option for longer camping trips.

One way to enjoy car camping is to convert a station wagon into a micro camper. This can be done relatively easily and will allow you to bring along all the gear and supplies you need for a comfortable camping trip. Would you ever consider converting your car, hatchback, station wagon, SUV, or minivan into a makeshift camper sort of like this?

He did a fantastic job! Great use of space. Looks great! I’d love to know the name/brand of bed slats that were used. You know, it makes an older woman smile seeing these builds. Somehow, I managed to turn every single vehicle I owned into a rolling bedroom at minimum. Glad to see it hasn’t gone outta style! 👍🏼
