From Rent-Burdened to Rent-Free

Back in 2020, Arslan was feeling the pinch of the ever-rising cost of rent in the U.S. Tired of watching his income disappear into monthly payments, he made a bold decision — he moved out of his apartment and into a vehicle. That decision kickstarted a minimalist, mobile lifestyle that not only freed him from rent but also allowed him to save over $100,000 in just five years.

His Journey: From Chevy Camaro to Chevy Suburban

Arslan’s adventure began with a foam mattress in the back of his SUV. From there, he got creative — even turning a Camaro into a stealth camper. Today, he’s comfortably living in a 2014 Chevy Suburban that he transformed into a cozy, efficient camper car.

While most people can’t imagine living in a vehicle, Arslan shows that with a little ingenuity and a willingness to live differently, it’s not only possible — it can be incredibly freeing.

What Makes His Setup Work

  • Stealth Camping – Arslan blends in seamlessly, often camping in urban and suburban areas without drawing attention.
  • Minimal Power Needs – With solar power and energy-efficient systems, he’s able to live off-grid without sacrificing comfort.
  • Low-Cost Living – No rent, reduced bills, and fewer unnecessary expenses mean more money saved and less financial stress.

More Than Just Savings

While the financial benefits are huge, Arslan also talks about the emotional and mental freedom he’s gained. Less stress, more time for self-reflection, and the flexibility to go wherever he pleases — it’s a lifestyle that’s about more than just dollars.
