Just when I think I’ve seen the tiniest living quarters, someone like Jimmy comes along and completely astonishes me! You might think someone living out of their car must have a messy, packed-full vehicle, but not Jimmy. Everything inside his Tesla has a home and is perfectly organized to maximize space and efficiency.
He even built in a cool storage system in the back which allows him to pull out his kitchen set up (that includes a sink, grill and even “running” water). Somehow he carefully included everything he needed and absolutely nothing more or less into his design. Check it out!

I see the posts like this and have mixed emotions. Yes, you can live like this. BUT …………… to me this is surviving for a short period of time till other options open up. Even a full size van makes more sense in a longer term. Cross country trip, fine. A long vacation, fine. But full time, month after month? No.
For the price of a Tesla get a used van camper. But t0 each his own, just not my cup of tea.
It’s definitely not for everyone but a growing percentage of the population are living in vehicles. While for many of them it is temporary but there are those who it is their way of life and have no plans to ever change it.
Mind, it’s a form of affordable housing and it allows for nomadic lifestyles that traditional housing doesn’t support, as well as allow people to live in areas otherwise too expensive for traditional options. Allowing people to retain jobs and access to other resource that would otherwise be unattainable to them.
So, it has its place and those it can serve…
Great vid and excellent job making a great adventure mobile. This is obviously for traveling dirt cheap I might as lots of free charge points. With covid might as well have done it.
Barely mentioned is heating, cooling on demand, comfortable seat makes this a fairly comfortable way to travel.
I’ve looked at the Y and replacing the hatch with an aero camper shell is very doable for more comfort.
Personally I’d have built an ultralight aero trailer with head, shower instead for more than traveling to, from things or more than a month.
Well of course this truly isn’t for everyone –BUT a great idea for a man who obviously loves the outdoors and adventures. If he tires of it, he can always pull out everything and still have a really super car!!
