Fall 2026 Tiny House Classes: Wild Abundance Near Asheville and Hammerstone in New York

If you want tool time this fall, two schools still have dated tiny-house classes on the calendar: a 9-day build near Asheville, and a run of interior trim and cabinetry sessions in upstate New York.

Wild Abundance, near Asheville

Wild Abundance’s in-person Tiny House Workshop is a 9-day intensive at Paint Fork Campus, about 30 minutes north of Asheville, North Carolina. The school’s listing names Barnardsville. Directions come after you register.

Under “2026 Class Dates,” September 4–12 is filled, with standby. October 16–24 is listed and not marked filled. A tool-intro add-on runs the day before each session — September 3 and October 15. The school says to plan on a 10-day course if you are new to power saws; that day is required for beginners.

Pay-what-you-can for the workshop is $1,950–$3,900. The tool day is $100–$200. They ask you to place yourself in the range.

In person, the class page says you frame and sheath a tiny home: pier foundations, floor system, walls, roof, sheathing, and window or door work if the build gets that far, plus house tours. Registration includes the Online Tiny House Academy. Days run 9:00 to 4:30 or 5:00, with at least one half-day break over the nine days.

Wild Abundance describes standby as a pre-paid waitlist and says, historically, you have a 90% chance of getting in; if you don’t, they give a full refund.

Hammerstone, Trumansburg and Ithaca

Hammerstone’s tiny-house series is built around a real house, from a bare trailer through custom cabinetry. The catalog cards currently say Unavailable. Dated sessions after August 26, 2026 sit on the event pages — not a claim that seats are open.

As published, courses are open to women and gender minorities, all skill levels, no prerequisite. The event pages also say Hammerstone welcomes all trans folks including trans men.

Three dated sessions are on the calendar:

  • Tiny House Interior Trim — Wednesday, September 16 through Friday, September 18, 2026 — Trumansburg, NY — tuition $750, sliding scale $495–$1,050
  • Cabinetry Basics: Carcasses & Drawers — Monday, October 5 through Friday, October 9, 2026 — Ithaca, NY — tuition $1,250, sliding scale $825–$1,750
  • Cabinetry Basics: Doors & Drawer Fronts — Wednesday, October 14 through Friday, October 16, 2026 — Ithaca, NY — tuition $750, sliding scale $495–$1,050

Those event pages list a $0 materials fee and hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The two cabinetry classes are related — doors and drawer fronts for the boxes built the week before — and can be taken independently.

These are finish-stage classes: trim, cabinet boxes, doors. Not the 9-day frame-up Wild Abundance is running near Asheville.
