The Cottages at Pine Lake is the Huntsville Area’s First & Only Tiny Home on Wheels community — 20 tiny homes on prepared lots outside Huntsville, in North Alabama. Some sit on the shore of a 2-acre private lake; others are forest lots.

Their community page prints the land two ways: “On just under 7 acres, under a beautiful 100ft-high shade canopy of pine…” and “6.4 wooded acres with walking trails.” The property was found late 2023 and developed over two years.
The daytime still is three tiny houses on wheels behind a low rail fence, gravel out front, tall pines over the roofs. A dark shed-roof house on the left. A white gable with a small porch in the middle. A pale grey house tight against a trunk on the right. The lake opens past that last house, a fountain working in the water.
The Lake Shore

From the water at dusk, the lake-shore lots line the riprap. Five houses, porches facing the lake, windows lit. A fountain is on in the middle. Pines go up behind the row.
The operator puts 20 tiny homes on prepared lots — some directly on the shore of that 2-acre private lake, others on forest lots. The lake is actively managed, with fountains. Walking trails and two on-site dog parks sit on the same list. Prepared lots have full hookups. Electric and water/sewer are individually metered. Property-wide Wi-Fi is included.
Key Money and Lot Rent
As of August 27, 2026, forest lots print $10,000 key money and lake lots print $15,000. Lot rent is $300 a month plus utilities on both types. The page says that key money “isn’t a deposit.” The lease is 12 months.
The FAQ prints an example utility math of about $73 or $33 — their illustration, not a typical bill. The same FAQ prints a late charge of 3% on the 5th, plus $2 a day. That is the printed line, not advice.
What Fits
A certified tiny house on wheels is required. Park models, RVs, manufactured homes, sheds, and trailers are listed under “NOT a Fit.”
The page calls the community adult-focused, for long-term residents. Pets are a maximum of two per tiny home. Short-term rentals are allowed only on a limited number of lake lots at the front; the rest of the property is long-term residents only.

Sunset on the same lake: orange sky in the water, a fountain lit blue at the left, a dark treeline, the corner of a house at the edge. The availability page says available lots are scarce and go fast. Walkthroughs are by scheduled appointment. The phone on the page is (256) 594-9499.

What do you think?
Would you put a certified THOW on a forest lot or a lake lot outside Huntsville — $10,000 or $15,000 key money, $300 a month plus utilities — or is the certified-THOW-only rule the hard stop? Tell us in the comments.
