Cardinal Point: A New Cottage Community in the Landrum Foothills

Cardinal Point Luxury Cottages is a boutique gated community in the Blue Ridge foothills in Landrum, South Carolina. You buy the cottage — Sweet-Haus builds them — and lease the homesite.

The official community map puts homesites on Meridian Drive and Compass Loop, off Highway 176. A dog park, a recreation area, and a pond are marked on the sheet.

The homepage photograph is the setting, not a cottage: a split-rail fence, a field, and the mountains behind Landrum.

It is gated. The FAQ is the first-party page for current inventory and custom-order options.

The hard part of the deal is the dirt. You do not own the land. Homeowners purchase the cottage and lease the homesite. As of August 27, 2026, the monthly homesite lease includes water, sewer, trash service, high-speed WIFI, common-area landscaping, and amenity access. Electricity, cable, and propane are separately metered.

A reservation deposit holds a homesite while the cottage is finalized.

The FAQ says pricing varies by model, features, and availability, and to contact them for current numbers. That same page says financing is available through approved lending partners for qualified buyers. That is their line, not a recommendation.

The official Sweet-Haus scroller names six models: Mesa, Tinde, Nordic Nook, Trailhead, Modern Farmhouse, and Wildflower. Specs below are as printed on those sheets — not a tape-measure of a finished house.

Official Sweet-Haus drawing of the Modern Farmhouse cottage: elevation, floor plan, interior sketch, and finish swatches, printed 46 by 12 feet and 400 square feet
Cardinal Point Luxury Cottages / liveatcardinalpoint.com

The Modern Farmhouse is 46 by 12 feet and 400 square feet: one bedroom, one bathroom, a 10-by-12-foot loft, RVIA certified. The sheet also says it is available with no loft. The floor plan on the drawing runs a screened porch, an open living-kitchen, a bath, and a bedroom, with stairs to the loft over the middle.

Twelve feet wide is the constraint. The loft is optional. Custom finishes on the sheet include exterior colors, lighting, heating, porch and decking, counters, cabinets, and storage.

Official Sweet-Haus drawing of the Trailhead cottage: elevation, studio floor plan, and finish swatches, printed 29 by 12 feet and 290 square feet
Cardinal Point Luxury Cottages / liveatcardinalpoint.com

Trailhead is the small one. Twenty-nine by 12 feet, 290 square feet, one bedroom, one bathroom, RVIA certified — a studio with a kitchenette. Alternate floor plans sit on the same sheet.

Official Sweet-Haus drawing of the Tinde cottage: elevation, floor plan with bonus bunk room, and finish swatches, printed 41 by 14 feet and 400 square feet, Modular SC/NC
Cardinal Point Luxury Cottages / liveatcardinalpoint.com

Tinde is the wider modular. Forty-one by 14 feet, 400 square feet, one bedroom, one bathroom, plus a bonus/bunk room. The sheet marks it Modular SC/NC, not RVIA.

Nordic Nook prints 46 by 13 feet, 400 square feet, one bedroom, one bathroom, two porches, RVIA certified. Mesa and Wildflower are named on the lineup.

The homepage offers a model-home tour. Contact the sales office for a private walk-through and current inventory. Several floor plans, plus custom-order options.
