Ed had dreamed of traveling the United States since she was a teenager. She grew up on a farm and hadn’t seen much else out there. In her 20s she got distracted by doing normal life.

But at age 30, she decided it was time to find a van and get out there. She did an awesome job insulating her van with blankets and black out curtains — and her van is totally electricity-free, which is quite impressive. She also has a manual pump for water, and just uses a cooler for her food.

  1. Ed,
I have such a high regard for people who live out their dreams. Congratulations for doing what was right for you, at the right time. It appears you have nurtured and designed every inch of space, and it probably nurtures you back, as well.
Great story, great job in making the dream come true. Keep dreaming and achieving. When I think of van life, it is like a lovely, private room of your own that you can move around, and go anywhere you want to, at any time.
Stay safe, keep that smile going, and continue to live your life, on your terms.
    Brenda

  2. Very unique van. Looks so cozy and comfortable, and to live without electricity takes a lot of ingenuity which you seem to have in abundance. Lots of helpful little additions everywhere. Great job! Be safe. . .
