We’ve shared the awesome octagonal house on Shellmate Island with you before, but now it’s officially available to rent on Airbnb!
For a little backstory, Tim & Sam bought a THOW, Tiffany the Tiny Home, more than three years ago. They ended up buying an island in Florida to give Tiffany a full-time home, and then built their octagonal vacation home by Deltec Homes on the property (following all the proper codes!). Now Tiffany lives full-time on the 1.5 acre island along with the vacation home which you can rent on Airbnb!
Tiny House Tours did an interview with Tim about living in Tiffany, and the financials of tiny house living. He has now paid of Tiffany, and the rental income is taking care of his mortgage and other expenses. Wow! Watch the video below.

Love this home. Beautiful. Would love to see the actual floor plan. It’s hard to picture the lay-out through photos. Thanks.

Cute as a button! Like the colors and the openness. The porch and fire area are really nice. Great job!
I love it! It looks like a fun place. My only problem is with Tiffanies front door stained glass. I couldn’t help but wanting to take it apart and separate the 2 reds. Who does that???? Why? Do they hate us so. Can’t… take… it… any more….Why? Just why? All those beautiful colors and you put 2 reds next to each other. It must be fixed!
Unfortunately, since Air BNB decided to get political and ban certain people from renting based on nothing but their political affiliation, I won’t be giving them any of my business.
I’m curious where you heard that news from?
It was pretty recent, they banned a guy who was going to rent an AirBNB to attend a rally event in the area. He was marked on social media when someone noted his booking and the company responded by cancelling his reservation and banning him.
Accusation was he was a member of the Proud Boys, an organization that people have claimed is a white supremacist group even though it’s leader is a black man and has Asian and Hispanic members.
They’re actually just a group that believes strongly in freedom. The core values they list on their website include ‘anti-racism’ and, in clearly stated language, a refusal to ‘discriminate based upon race or sexual orientation / preference’… But in today’s highly politicized environment, guilt by association and if you support a particular party you’re automatically racist even if you are one of the races they state you’re racist against…
AirBNB, like many large companies these days, has been growingly political. Like last year they were noted for delisting properties in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, among other politically motivated decisions they’ve made over the last few years.
Just one of many examples of what big corporations have been up to… Lots of examples of censoring, banning, and even slandering for political reasons… It’s one of the reason there’s growing support of removing protections from Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc. because they’re acting like publishers and not a free speech platform anymore… Even an article from NT Times got censored, for example… One person even had to leave the publishing organization he helped founded because it censored him when he tried to publish a simple facts list piece, and despite being a liberal he strongly believes no one should be censored so left and is going to start another publishing firm… Truth in media in the states is sorely lacking right now and big corporations have taken sides…
Thank you.
