Patrick Botticelli of New Jersey Outdoor Adventures just walked us through one of the most configurable cargo-trailer campers we have seen: the prototype Search4 Outdoors S4. In his YouTube tour, Patrick meets Mike, the creator behind Search4 Outdoors, and spends a full half hour moving kitchens, wet baths, and a rear glass sunroom like they are furniture — because on this trailer, they are.

Who builds it
The trailer is a Search4 Outdoors S4 (also written Search 4 Outdoors / Search for Outdoors in the tour). Mike is the creator Patrick interviews on camera. The company site is search4outdoors.com. We did not find a separate named cargo-trailer chassis brand in the video description, on-screen credits, or the maker’s site — Search4 describes a hand-built steel frame, aluminum skin, Azdel interior walls, and Cruisemaster XT independent suspension, and notes that the photos (and this tour) show a prototype, with axle placement different on production units.
Tow small, camp bigger
Search4’s published numbers (which differ slightly from the rounded figures in the YouTube description) are the ones we are using here:
- Tow length: 19 ft tongue to tail
- Closed vs. camped: tow around 17 ft and camp at 24 ft when the rear patio is enclosed (13 ft main living area + 4 ft front room + 6.5 ft extendable patio with floor-to-ceiling windows)
- Interior: 80 inches wide, 6 ft 8 in headroom — wide enough for a residential king, per the maker
- Weight: about 4,000 lb dry (estimated) / 6,000 lb GVWR
- Price: $79,895 “fully loaded” comes standard on both the video description and the Search4 site headline. The site’s product schema also lists $84,895 — confirm current pricing with the builder. $500 refundable deposit; 12–16 week build time stated on the site
The YouTube copy talks about a 13-foot box expanding toward 20 feet, and a key-takeaway line of a 19-foot trailer becoming a 26-foot camp. Treat those as tour shorthand; the maker’s spec sheet is the cleaner source.

The modular interior is the whole point
E-track (Search4 calls the system E-terior) runs through the interior so nearly every piece — kitchen module, 30×30 wet bath with composting toilet, wood stove, tables, beds — can be unclipped and parked somewhere else. Patrick and Mike demonstrate layouts that go from two singles to a queen, bunks, or a dinette, including using the trailer closed up with no patio setup.
The front “room” is a mudroom / vestibule / gear shed: two entry doors, so you can walk in through a wet-gear airlock or go straight into the living space. That is the action-sports brief — surf, snow, and singletrack — more than a weekend RV.

Four-season systems (as listed by Search4)
- Renogy 800W solar, 920Ah heated LiFePO4 batteries, pre-wire for a 400W wind turbine, 80A AC-to-DC charger
- 12V 10,000 BTU A/C with heat, 27,000 BTU diesel heater, compact wood stove
- Havelock wool insulation, Arctic Tern windows, Falken Wildpeak A/T tires, 12-foot awning, four-corner leveling jacks
- 65L ICECO fridge, dual-burner propane stove, butcher-block kitchen, Joolca composting toilet
- 10-gallon shower tank + grey; 7-gallon kitchen tank; 18- or 25-gallon storage tanks optional
- HD projector and 70-inch screen, Bluetooth speakers, Viair compressor, rear camera
Search4 says the production trailer will add an inverter (the prototype tour unit is described elsewhere as 12-volt-only). Options include a larger 36×36 wet bath and an 86L fridge. Exterior color, stain, fabric, rims, and floor color are the listed personalization items — not a full custom-build menu.
Watch the tour, then go to the source
Patrick’s walkthrough is the best way to see the sunroom fold out and the kitchen actually slide. Full video: The Most Configurable Cargo Trailer Camper I’ve Ever Seen! on New Jersey Outdoor Adventures.
