Here’s a look at the kitchen before he remodeled it. He even discovered water damage in the flooring in this area. You can see how he fixed it in the video below.

Here’s where some of the high tech comes in. He always seems to know how to add the right gadgets to his builds. This is a pop-out surge protector for easy charging.

Hey DualEX: You did a fantastic job. You should be very proud of your accomplishments. I hope that doing this puts you on the road just that much quicker in seeing your dreams & goals become reality. Just hang in there… believe in yourself and at some point… you will make it all happen. U.S. Army, Ret. TX
I am glad he was able to get all of this work & remodeling done before lumber jumped 280% in cost. Lumber has gotten so expensive that a lot of people are putting their wood building projects completely on hold. The only way to force the high cost of lumber to come down is for everyone to simply refuse to pay such high prices for the lumber and do not buy any lumber until the prices do drop back down.
It’s crazy! As the owner of a homestead we are always needing lumber for projects and so many are on hold!
Here in Texas… one way people are beating the sky high cost of lumber is instead of buying lumber from brick & mortar stores like Lowes or Home Depot… they are buying lumber from local sawmills in the State. Check out your State and see where local sawmills are located and contact them for better pricing on lumber.
Great idea thanks for sharing!
Yes! We have gotten all the lumber for our homestead projects from our local sawmill. It’s rough-cut pine, but for our purposes it works well and they haven’t raised prices at all. Also keep an eye out on Facebook Marketplace. I got some nicer wood from people needing to quickly clean out and was able to build our picnic table with it. All free.
Also depends on the type of wood products. The price increases have primarily hit the common construction use lumber but hardwoods, etc have mostly remained the same in most areas.
While, if you can process your own lumber… Planer, jointer, etc. Then raw lumber can be really low cost. Just have to decide if air dried or kiln dried and how long you want to wait to use the lumber..
Add, for Facebook market place to look for sawyers and like craigslist misspelled wood names may get you more results. While local, none public listings, word of mouth, etc can find some that otherwise aren’t listed.
I love your RV. You are very talented. Very nice video. 🤟🏼
Wow! What an amazing difference! I love the electronic “stuff”, especially that TV stand. I love the shower, and the kitchen counter is lovely. The entire place is so pretty and cozy. You did a great job!
Amazing. You are very talented. How long did it taken.
We are a new non profit now working to start building to scale tiny solar powered housing for the Homeless and Disabled Veteran’s, kick starting in Jacksonville FL then on to the rest of the country
Hey Solarmanjd-
Great cause and so glad to see that it’s being done! I can tell you first hand that we have a very LARGE homeless population, including many vets, here in Gainesville. I’d be happy to volunteer a few hours or so a month. I’d come over to Jax to help. Just reach out to me at my email address ([email protected]) if you’re interested.
Love the outcome! Love a man with a vision, the tools and knowledge to make it happen.
This is a great video! The cute young man is awesome & I like how he tackled this RV. I like his storage unit shop too. One of my favorite vids on remodeling RV’s!
He did such an amazing job. I like his thought on how to remodel it. Very very talented.
Alex,
Is the Small House newsletter working? I have been signed up for weeks and have gotten nothing.
Thank you for your reply,
Dayne
I came across a few of DualEX’s YouTube videos about a year or so ago. His projects are always beautiful when he’s done. His new RV build is no different- he did an amazing job on it! DualEX is a very talented young man and I look forward to watching more videos of upcoming projects!
