Tiny Digs, Portland’s hotel of tiny houses, is turning 10. When it opened in October 2016, more than 1,200 people showed up to tour the first six tiny houses. Ten years later there are twelve, each with its own theme, from a Scandinavian Finlandia to a yellow train car and a 1950s rock ‘n’ roll house.
We’ve been covering Tiny Digs since the beginning, so for the anniversary we toured every house again. Below you’ll find all twelve with fresh photos, plus details on the free anniversary open house on Sunday, October 25, 2026.

A Courtyard of Tiny Houses in Northeast Portland
Tiny Digs transformed an old car dealership lot on NE Glisan Street into a little village. Twelve tiny houses on wheels are snuggled around a shared outdoor lounge with couches, two fire pits, games, greenery, and twinkle lights.

The location is a big part of the appeal. The Kerns neighborhood has close to 50 restaurants, breweries, and bars within a 10-minute walk, the convention center is less than a mile away, and downtown is about a 10-minute drive.
Designed and Built by the Westra Family
Owners Pam and Bruce Westra designed and built nearly every tiny house on the lot themselves. They shared what they learned along the way in our post Tiny House Building Couple Share Their Top 10 Tips. The one exception is The Zen, which was designed by Bryce Langston of Living Big in a Tiny House.
