This is the story of a very unique tiny house in Australia with a pop-up roof loft. The family of three designed and built it themselves and one of the unique things about it is that the loft roof is able to expand upward once the home is parked.
So whenever they want to move the house, they can collapse the roof down so that the house meets the applicable road laws. Pretty smart, right? They even did it in a way that it truly looks permanent once it’s set up! Pretty amazing, don’t you think?

I had the idea to expand the roof years ago so glad to see someone did it. I would probably do it on the whole room though so I could put my bed in there bc I love my platform bed but this is certainly an awesome tiny house, one of the best I’ve seen. I would want some storage in bathroom too. But if I were to build this one I would make the lounge area slightly shorter where I could expand the loft and bedroom or I would go longer with my trailer. Bravo, the cost is super great. I would love to have the info on how to do this. I would change very few things. LOVE the built ins in the kitchen and under stairway, great job!
Love this the windows by the kitchen sink and how the top opens to enjoy the air. Beautiful clean tiny home but it looks big.
Nicely done! A very clever way to expand the roof! I would make one comment about a change I would make, though. Though I understand and appreciate how built-in couches aid in space utilization, they are never quite deep enough and the cushions are never quite thick enough to inspire real comfort. One should feel safe when taking a nap, too, without wondering if you will roll off if you shift your position. I want something I can curl up on and sink into so that is one change I would make in this THOW and many others I have seen. Like I said, this is nicely done and that one change would make it so much better!
