Escape e-Vista: An All-Electric Studio with a Maple Butcher Block Kitchen

The e-Vista is the all-electric version of ESCAPE’s compact Vista, and the kitchen is where the money went: a long solid maple butcher block countertop, a deep sink, a fridge/freezer, an induction cooktop with a hood, and a washer/dryer, plus a large storage closet.

Being all-electric means no propane to plumb, tank, or inspect — and a clean path to running the whole house on solar later.

Editor’s note: this newly built e-Vista was offered in 2022 and has sold. The eVista remains in ESCAPE’s lineup — here is how it was described at the time:

Why the Kitchen Defines a Studio

  • In a studio the kitchen is the main room. There is no separate dining space, so counter length and sink depth matter more than in a larger home.
  • Solid maple butcher block can be resurfaced. Unlike laminate it sands back to new — the right choice on a surface you use daily for a decade.
  • Induction suits all-electric builds. Faster and cooler than resistance elements, with no combustion in a small sealed space.
  • A dedicated storage closet is rare and valuable. Somewhere for the vacuum and the brooms is the detail most tiny houses forget.

I like the basic layout and the amenities. What I have been curious about, however, is there are two drawers under the bed, then a black square, can’t tell if that is another empty space, or something else. Is there a way to find out what that is?

Circuit breaker box, they typically use the RV type that has a combination of DC fuses and AC breaker switches.
