Escalante Village is Durango’s Riverfront Tiny Home Community along the Animas River — 24 tiny home spaces, a 15-minute bike ride to downtown Durango, and the first tiny home community in Durango. The homepage asks, “Are You Ready to Live in 400 ft² at 6,512 ft?”

Each space is 20 feet wide by 40 feet deep — the average tiny home is 8 feet wide by 26 feet deep — to fit the home, two parked cars, and room for a patio.
Infrastructure named: Water, Sewer, Electric, Trash, Recycle, Internet, Self-Storage. Amenities: landscaping including two garden beds per space; community garden; fiber optic cable internet; parking; snow removal.
Open, and Full
The Reservations page prints “UPDATE: Escalante Village currently has no openings.” The Live page: “FYI: we do not have any availability at this time.” Resources asks you to contact for availability. The FAQ: “We are currently, officially, legally, happily open!” and “We are the proud home of 24 tiny homes!” The community is open. The park is full on this pass.
The Live page prints “6 of the spaces are tiny home rentals” and remaining are individually-owned tiny homes. The FAQ: “Yes, we have three tiny homes at Escalante Village that we lease out for long-term rentals, based on availability.” Both lines are on the site as of August 30, 2026.
The same Live page prints “Escalante Village has 16 spaces leased to those who own their own tiny homes.”
FAQ: you own your tiny home — or rent one of ours — and rent the land. Utilities are not included in space rent; tenants are responsible.
Storage
The Live page and the FAQ print storage at 8 x 5 = $50.00/month, 8 x 8 = $80.00/month, and 8 x 10 = $100/month. Reservations prints 8 x 8 = $80/month and 10 X 10 = $100/month.
