Jack fulfilled one of his teenage dreams: Building his very own tiny house, with the help of his dad! He built his first micro cabin at the age of 13, and he actually reused material from that to build his current house. In fact, he reused so many materials he found free or cheap that he was able to complete the tiny house for just £5,000 (around $6K).
He began building in 2020 when he started university, and he continued for three years. He recently finished school to be a filmmaker and he owns his own home! You won’t believe how amazing it looks on the inside.

VIDEO: 21-Year-Old’s Ingenious £5,000 Tiny Home!
Highlights:
- Jake was first inspired to build a tiny space when he was 13. He created a micro office/sleeping space with the help of his dad, and he never stopped loving small spaces!
- At the age of 19, he decided it was time to build a “real” tiny house, and got started on an old farm trailer.
- The entire build took him and his dad about 3 years (while he was in university as well) and he just moved in!
- He chose an open-concept design with no loft, so the couch/living room becomes his bedroom at night.
- There’s tons of clever storage inside! And somehow he only spent around $6K because of all the reclaimed and free materials he used.

What an amazing little cottage! The kitchen is gorgeous and I love all the different wood stains in the ceiling and about. That fold down table is very clever and having a recessed bed gives you tons of space. What a great job!
Great Job! Cute House!
