Patrick and Thomas from the Rewild Homes Team built the Blue Heron tiny house to be completely off-grid with a Morso wood stove, 6 x 285 Watts of solar power, rainwater collection, and a Separett composting toilet. The house is built on a 24 foot, 2 axle trailer, and it measures approximately 200 square feet.

The solar power system is very large for a tiny house, and they did this primarily because they wanted to run the refrigerator on solar power. They use propane for hot water and for the cooktop.

For ventilation, they have an industrial style ceiling fan to circulate heat and air. They have a hood fan above the stove and a vent in the bathroom to help keep humidity levels down. For heat, they installed a Morso wood stove because it can be placed closer to the wall because of the built-in heat shield.

Because of “ITS” built-in heat shield. IT apostophe S (it’s) is always, always, always IT IS. So, you would not say “because of IT IS heat shield.” Its denotes possession – The dog chewed ITS toy. The cat licked ITS paw. If you’re going to write, please learn the correct word usage. Hope you don’t also have a problem with their, there and they’re.
Is that suppose to be a comment on the tiny house or a lesson in English??
Hi cate, just letting you know that cate is not really a word? just kidding. what did you think of the TH build?
I so agree with your ITCH comment with a large B for good measure…..
LOVE, this tiny house! I have been looking for something that can go off grid. I have a few questions please. How much does this cost? What size vehicle do you need to pull it? Where do you put the rain catchment barrel for transporthe? You didn’t mention anything in regards to internet; how is that handled off grid?
Thanks so much!
