Off-road trailers have exploded in popularity, but most of them ask you to give up one thing in the name of going small and rugged: a real bathroom. The Encore RV ROG 12RK-FB sets out to fix exactly that — Encore RV calls it the first adventure trailer of its kind to feature a fully integrated, stand-up bathroom module, and it manages that while still fitting inside a standard 7-foot garage. At just under 18 feet long and a remarkably light 2,654-pound dry weight, the 12RK-FB is built to be towed almost anywhere and then dropped deep into the backcountry, pairing a convertible queen-size living space with a rear outdoor kitchen, serious off-grid power options, and that signature pop-up bathroom. With a base MSRP around $34,495, it lands squarely in the heart of the overland-trailer market — but with a feature set that’s genuinely hard to find anywhere else.

A Garage-Friendly Off-Road Trailer Built to Disappear Into the Backcountry
The 12RK-FB measures 17′ 11-3/8″ long and 7′ 11″ wide, which is the whole point of its name’s compact proportions: it tucks neatly inside a standard 7-foot garage when you’re back home. Underneath, this is a serious trailer. Encore builds it with 100% wood-free construction using their Tri-Bond 360 technology, an all-aluminum chassis and frame, aluminum “Forever Cabinets,” and a one-piece Impact Guard roof. There’s nothing in the structure to rot, delaminate, or absorb water — a meaningful difference when your trailer spends its life bouncing down dusty forest roads and parked in the weather.
That wood-free build is also how Encore keeps the dry weight down to 2,654 pounds with a 4,400-pound GVWR, so it’s towable by a wide range of mid-size SUVs and trucks rather than demanding a full-size tow rig.

The Headline Feature: A Stand-Up Bathroom That Deploys in Seconds
This is the reason the 12RK-FB exists. Most adventure trailers this size send you to a portable toilet under an awning, but the 12RK-FB carries a powder-coated aluminum bathroom module that folds flat for travel and pops up into a full stand-up enclosure in seconds. Rip-stop privacy panels with screened windows give you a genuinely private place to shower and use the toilet, and because it’s a hard-sided module rather than a flimsy pop-up tent, it stands up to wind and weather far better than the fabric solutions you’ll see on competing trailers.

Step Inside the Bath Module
Once deployed, the bathroom floor is a molded pan with a slip-resistant EVA teak-look surface — the kind of grippy, marine-style flooring you’d want when it’s wet underfoot. Waterproof LED lighting means you’re not fumbling in the dark, and a 12V power port is built right in for a fan, a charger, or a rechargeable lantern. The screened windows let the breeze (and the view) in while keeping the bugs out.

Encore even thought about the little touches. There’s a shelf for your toiletries, and the staging shots lean into the brand’s playful Bigfoot mascot with a carved soap dish and adventure-grade grooming gear — a small but telling sign that this is a company that wants the experience to feel considered, not improvised.

And then there’s the view. Unzip a screened panel and your morning routine comes with a front-row seat to the lake and the sunrise — the kind of detail that turns a functional necessity into one of the best parts of the trip.

A Convertible Living Space: Futon by Day, Queen Bed by Night
The cabin is anchored by a true queen futon that does triple duty. During the day it works as a recliner-style couch for lounging out of the weather; flatten it out and you’ve got a full 60″ x 80″ queen sleeping surface. It’s a smart use of a small footprint — instead of a fixed bed that eats the whole interior, you get a comfortable living area that converts when it’s time to turn in.

Surrounding the futon, Encore packs in a surprising amount of storage: overhead cabinets, recessed shelving, wall-mounted storage nets on both the roadside and curbside, a rear-wall corner shelf, and a closet that also houses the furnace. A recessed cabinet is even pre-wired for the optional 12V 32″ LED smart TV.

The Rear Outdoor Kitchen
Cooking happens outside on the 12RK-FB, which keeps heat, smells, and mess out of your sleeping space — a layout overlanders tend to love. The rear galley features solid-surface countertops, a sink with a faucet, base-cabinet storage, a spice rack, and LP quick connects so you can run your stove or a fire pit off the trailer’s propane.

The cooktop itself rides on a slide-out tray that tucks away when you’re on the move and pulls out to a comfortable working height at camp. It’s a clean solution that protects the burners during travel and gives you real counter-adjacent cooking space when you arrive.

Keeping everything cold is a 3.3-cubic-foot 12V refrigerator — efficient enough to run off the trailer’s batteries and solar, so your food stays chilled even when you’re days from a hookup.

There’s also a flip-down griddle mount that turns into a breakfast station with the optional 25″ two-burner griddle. Pancakes with a lakeside view is exactly the kind of morning this trailer is built for.

Built for Going Off-Grid
The 12RK-FB is engineered to keep you out there. An on-demand 42,000 BTU water heater delivers essentially endless hot water for that pop-up shower, while an 18,000 BTU ducted LP furnace keeps the cabin warm when the temperature drops. Fresh water capacity is 43 gallons.
Power is where it gets serious. The Power-Up package adds an MPPT solar controller, a DC-to-DC charger, a 100aH heated lithium battery on a custom tray that holds up to four batteries, a 200-watt solar panel with shade technology, and a 120-amp waterproof Anderson connector. Step up to the Power+Plus package and you get a 3,000-watt inverter with auto transfer switch, three 100aH lithium batteries (400aH total), two 200-watt panels, and a slide-out solar panel system for chasing the sun. A roof rack system up top carries gear, panels, and a rooftop tent.

Out front, a spare tire and LP carrier, a wind deflector, and an articulating Lock-n-Roll hitch (part of the Overland Package) round out the off-road hardware. Optional Timbren axle-less suspension and a 13,500 BTU low-profile roof A/C with heat pump are there for buyers who want to push into rougher terrain and hotter climates.

The 12RK-FB Floor Plan
The layout tells the whole story at a glance: a front bathroom (the “FB” in the name) with the toilet and on-demand water heater up by the tongue, the convertible 60″ x 80″ queen/futon in the center surrounded by storage, and the full outdoor kitchen across the rear wall. It’s a tidy, purpose-built arrangement that gives a sub-18-foot trailer a bed, a bath, and a kitchen without feeling cramped.
