A 28-Ft Tiny Mountain Houses THOW with a Murphy Bed in Moose, Wyoming

This 28-foot Tiny Mountain Houses build sat in Moose, Wyoming — the doorstep of Grand Teton National Park — and sold fully furnished. Its most useful idea is the first-floor bedroom built around a Murphy bed and a bay window: the bed folds away during the day, so the room does double duty instead of being surrendered to a mattress, and there’s still a loft above the bathroom for guests or storage.

The finish level is high. A full kitchen carries a refrigerator, a gas oven and range, dark walnut butcher block counters, and a farmhouse sink. The bathroom is the surprise: a jetted tub, a washer/dryer unit, and a Separett toilet. A wall-mounted electric fireplace handles ambiance, and the exterior mixes metal and wood siding.

Editor’s note: this home was listed at $79,000 in early 2024, sold fully furnished and without land, and it is no longer available. Current listings are linked below.

Why a Murphy Bed Beats a Loft

  • A folding bed gives the room back every morning. A first-floor bedroom that converts is the closest a tiny house gets to having a spare room.
  • Keeping a loft as well is the right hedge. The Murphy bed handles daily life; the loft absorbs guests and storage without either compromising the other.
  • A bay window is worth the wall it costs. It pushes the footprint outward visually and turns a bedroom corner into the best seat in the house.
  • A jetted tub in a THOW is a real statement. Tubs are usually the first casualty of a tiny bathroom; fitting one signals a build meant for full-time comfort.
  • Fully furnished suits an awkward footprint. Pieces chosen to fit a 28-ft home are costly to source separately, so including them is genuine value.
