This little cedar-clad tiny house sits behind a home in Stanton, California, about 15 minutes from Disneyland. It’s an Escape Vista Boho, a single-level tiny house on wheels, and for several years it was one of the most popular Airbnb stays for families heading to the parks.

The appeal is easy to see. Hotels near Disneyland are expensive and often basic. This place gave guests a full kitchen, a real bathroom, a bed on the main floor and a private fenced patio with a grill, for less than many nearby motels charged.

It’s also a useful example for anyone thinking about a backyard rental. The Vista Boho needs no loft ladder, tows on a standard trailer, and fits in a typical suburban side yard.

A Single-Level Layout With the Bed on the Main Floor

The Vista Boho’s biggest selling point is that everything is on one level. There’s no loft to climb into, which matters more than people expect. Kids, older guests and anyone carrying luggage up a ladder will appreciate a bed you can simply walk to.

The bed here is a built-in daybed-style lounge with deep cushions along the window wall. It works as a couch during the day and folds flat for sleeping, which is how the home sleeps up to four. A flip-up table opposite the kitchen doubles as a dining spot or a laptop desk.

The galley kitchen runs along one side, with a deep stainless sink, plenty of drawers and a big window over the counter. Wood ceilings, pine walls and long clerestory-style windows keep the narrow space bright instead of boxy. A tall closet near the bathroom door gives guests somewhere to hang clothes, which is rare in a home this small.

A Real Bathroom With a Full Shower

The bathroom sits at the far end of the house, behind a frosted-glass door. It has a standard flush toilet and a compact wall-mounted sink, so there’s no composting toilet to explain to guests. Open shelving above the toilet holds towels, and a cabinet keeps toiletries out of the way.

The shower is a full stand-up stall rather than a cramped wet bath. That’s one of the details that makes a tiny house work as a rental: guests expect a normal shower after a long day at a theme park.

Cedar Siding and a Modern Shed Roof

From the outside, the Vista Boho looks more like a modern studio than a camper. Warm-toned wood siding is framed by dark trim, with a single-slope shed roof and big windows on both long sides. Here it sits on a low deck with a small table and chairs right outside the door.

A Private Patio Made for Unwinding After the Parks

The host turned the side yard into an outdoor living room. Tall fencing and reed screens give privacy from the neighbors, and a gravel-and-deck layout keeps it low-maintenance. There’s an outdoor sectional with a coffee table and rug, plus string lights along the fence.

A built-in gas grill sits next to the house, so guests could cook dinner outside instead of eating at the parks every night.

A glass-top dining table with wrought-iron chairs completes the space. In Southern California’s mild weather, this patio effectively doubles the living area.

Set Behind the Host’s Home in Stanton

The tiny house shares a lot with the host’s main house, but it has its own entrance through a side gate. This is a common setup for backyard rentals: guests get privacy while the owners stay close enough to handle any problems.

The front yard opens onto a quiet residential street with a lawn, a patio set and off-street parking. From here it’s a short drive to Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and Stanton Central Park.

What Guests Said About Staying Here

In 2023, theme-park journalist Carly Caramanna stayed here and wrote about the experience for Business Insider. She paid about $92 a night, compared with around $300 for basic motels nearby on her dates. The home was about 15 minutes from Disneyland and 8 minutes from Knott’s Berry Farm.

Her review backs up what the photos suggest. She said the galley layout was easy for two people to move around in, the closet and drawers held more luggage than she expected, and the air conditioning was strong. Check-in used a keypad code, so she never needed to meet the host. She said she’d happily book it again.

Can You Still Book It?

Not right now, as far as we can tell. The original Airbnb listing has been taken down, and we couldn’t find it listed elsewhere. If it comes back, we’ll update this post.

  1. Great EV like THs should be, not huge, tall, complicated, heavy, costly.
    Very nice layout.
Alex can you cut the number of pics to 8 or less as a pain to get through.

    1. Jerry-
I’d prefer more pictures!! I look at Tiny House Newsletter on my lunch at work and I cannot play videos here unless they are on our intranet (training vids and the like). Pics and written words are the only way I can see and learn about the tiny houses. The pics are easy enough to scroll through for me!

      1. For those who need more than 8 pics like you there is a link to all of them and more info. And the rest of us don’t have to drudge through them all.
4 pics could have done the interior well and 3 outdoors in this case for 90% of people. And a link for the other 10%. In this case I suggest you check it out as a lot of other cool models along the same style. I don’t see much log cabin in it, more modern wood style
