Jessica was ready to leave her regular days in construction and hit the road — but on a budget! She found this low-top van on Facebook Marketplace already built out and for only $7,000. After updates and mechanical repairs, her total cost was $9,500 for the rig.

Incredibly, her jewelry business took off after posting one of her videos, and now she makes money from crafting handmade rings. Her story and conversion is inspiring as it shows that van life doesn’t have to be fancy to be awesome.

• She had an $8,000 budget and got this already-converted low-top van for $7,000.
• With some new paint and bedding, she was able to sell most of her stuff and move in.
• In order to afford life on the road, she started making rings. One video took off and now she gets enough income from her jewelry-making.
• Her “studio” is outside beneath her awning to give her room and keep her safe from the chemicals she works with to make the rings.
