Yama Vans’ pre-loved listings don’t come up often, and the Gatsby is a special one. This is a 2021 Yama-spec Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 170 4×4 with fewer than 5,000 miles on it — essentially a mint, lightly-used luxury adventure van offered at $225,000 USD. Built by the Calgary, Canada shop for a family that spends their days in the wild and their nights in comfort, the 23-foot, 4×4 Gatsby balances a rugged exterior with a serene, detail-rich interior: it seats five, sleeps five across three distinct zones, and includes a full-height wetroom, a premium induction kitchen, a mobile office, and even an onboard movie projector. With minimal mileage and a spotless interior, it’s a rare chance to get a fully-loaded build without the wait or the new-build price.

Step Inside a Family-Sized, Marine-Grade Interior
For a van built to carry a family, the Gatsby feels remarkably open and refined. A convertible dinette with tan leather seating sits beneath big windows, finished in a calm palette of white surfaces, warm wood, and marine- and commercial-grade materials chosen to take years of real family use. Six dimmable LED lighting zones, precision-fit bug screens, and four-season insulation make it as comfortable parked at a trailhead in summer as it is in the mountains in winter.

A Premium Induction Galley
The kitchen is built for real cooking. A clean white countertop houses an induction cooktop and a sink with a sculptural black faucet and a fitted wood cutting board, with an on-demand filtered drinking-water system plumbed in. Storage is handled by integrated aluminum-and-wood cabinetry that keeps the look tidy and the contents secure on rough roads.

A tall stainless compressor refrigerator is built into the cabinetry, big enough to keep a family’s groceries cold for a multi-day trip off the grid.

A Full-Height Wetroom With Shower and Toilet
The feature that really sets the Gatsby apart from smaller vans is its full-height wetroom — a real, stand-up bathroom you can use without ducking. A handheld shower on a slide bar rinses off the day, and the whole enclosure is sealed to be splashed down and wiped clean.

The same wetroom houses a cassette toilet over a teak floor with a grab rail — a genuinely livable bathroom that makes full-time and family travel far more comfortable than a portable setup ever could.

Sleeping for Five Across Three Zones
Sleeping five in a van takes clever zoning, and the Gatsby pulls it off with three separate sleeping areas. At the rear, a sideways bed sleeps two on a ventilated dual-density mattress (with room for frames up to 6’1″), and a flip-down bunk above adds a berth for one — ideal for kids who each want their own spot.

Up top, a pop-top opens to a third sleeping zone for two, with windows on both sides for a breezy, view-filled loft. With the rear bed platform reconfigurable into the dinette by day, the whole van flexes effortlessly between living and sleeping modes.

A Mobile Office and a Movie Theater
The Gatsby is set up for the realities of long trips. A pull-out work surface folds out from the cabinetry to create a desk for remote work, backed by organized storage cubbies, while onboard WiFi keeps the family connected from the backcountry.

When the work is done, an onboard movie projector turns the interior into a cozy theater — movie night in the mountains, streamed over WiFi onto the wall, backed by a professionally-tuned multi-speaker sound system with added sound dampening.

Marine-Grade Craftsmanship, Built for the Long Haul
Everywhere you look, the Gatsby shows the build quality you’d expect at this price: figured-wood cabinetry, marine-grade wiring, and finishings chosen for durability. Under the skin, it’s a serious off-grid and overland platform. A 7.68 kWh lithium bank with a 3 kVA inverter charger, 300 watts of rooftop solar, a 280-amp secondary alternator, and 30-amp shore power keep it running for two-plus weeks unplugged, while a 21,000 BTU hydronic system delivers heat and on-demand hot water and a 12V rooftop unit handles air conditioning. Water comes from an 80-liter (21-gal) fresh tank with a 60-liter (16-gal) grey tank and filtered drinking water, plus an exterior hot-and-cold wash station for muddy boots and dogs.

The 170″ 4×4 Sprinter rides on custom rear leaf springs, coilovers, and heavy-duty shocks with BFGoodrich KO2 tires on 17-inch alloys, and an extended 178-liter fuel tank stretches range to roughly 1,000 km. Add a deck rack with side ladder, automatic power side steps, a modular bike-and-cargo carrier, an onboard twin-compressor air system, a full-size spare, Baja Designs LP9 and rack lighting, a manual awning, and an integrated touchscreen with an app for monitoring it all, and the Gatsby wants for very little.
