Rounding out Yama Vans’ gallery is the Fitz, a Teton01N build that’s as much about identity as it is about adventure. Its custom sage-green exterior was inspired by Grasmere Lake — a nod to home for the UK-born couple who own it, whose Canadian life is now shaped by cycling, wild swims, ski touring, and long stretches of time outdoors. Built by the Calgary, Canada shop on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 144, the Fitz is the most family-and-friends-friendly of these builds: it seats four, adds a pop-top for extra sleeping, and pairs a bright, lake-toned interior with the same gear garage, induction galley, and off-road hardware that make a Yama van so capable far from the pavement.

A Grasmere-Green Sprinter Built for Four
The Fitz’s standout signature is its color. Rather than a stock white or grey, the couple chose a soft, muted sage green drawn from Grasmere Lake in England’s Lake District — a personal touch that makes the van instantly recognizable and ties it to the landscape they grew up near. On the rugged Sprinter 144 platform, finished with off-road wheels and tires, a roof rack with an awning, a front light bar, and amber auxiliary lights, that gentle color sits over a seriously capable adventure rig.

A Bright, Lake-Inspired Interior
Inside, the Fitz carries the calm, watery palette through with pale blue-green counters, light maple cabinetry, and cream leather seating. It’s an airy, restful space that feels open despite the compact footprint, with big windows on both sides and the rear, a powered roof fan, and the lengthwise bed tucked at the back. The whole interior reads more like a serene lakeside cabin than a hard-working off-road van.

A Galley With Induction and Room to Grow
The galley centers on an induction cooktop set into the pale counter, with a sink and a sculptural black faucet alongside. It’s positioned right by the sliding door, so you can cook with the doors open and the meadow at your feet. Smart drawers and a control panel keep the systems tidy and within reach.

As in Yama’s other compact builds, the counter pulls out to expand the prep surface when you’re cooking and tucks back to keep the aisle clear afterward — a simple, clever way to make a small kitchen work for real meals after a big day outside.

Seating and Sleeping for Four
Where most of these builds seat two, the Fitz is set up for four. Cream leather seats and a removable wood table form a comfortable dinette for meals, games, or planning the next ride or swim, and the cab seats swivel to join the living space. It’s a layout built for a couple who like to bring friends or family along.

Sleeping is just as flexible. A fixed lengthwise bed at the rear gives two people a full-length sleep with a window framing the mountains, while the pop-top roof opens to a second sleeping zone up top — so the Fitz comfortably sleeps four without sacrificing its daytime living space.

A Full-Size Fridge and Smart Storage
Keeping four people fed off-grid takes real refrigeration, and the Fitz delivers with a tall upright compressor fridge built into the cabinetry — plenty of room for a few days’ groceries between resupplies.

Beneath the rear bed sits the gear garage, finished here with playful ikat-patterned panels and lined with control gear, storage boxes, and MOLLE organization. It’s where the bikes, swim kit, and ski-touring gear ride — secure, organized, and out of the living space.

A Pop-Top, Solar, and a Gear Garage for Adventure
From the back, the Fitz shows its full adventure kit: a pop-top roof topped with solar to keep the batteries charged, a rear gear garage you load straight through the doors, and a swing-away carrier holding a full-size spare and an external storage box. Combined with the off-road suspension and tires, it’s a van genuinely built to head deep into the mountains for cycling, ski touring, and wild swims — and stay there.
