This week we got an email from a new tiny house/van conversion builder — Tiny Topanga based in Central Mexico and Southern California. The business started out as a side project, but they enjoyed building so much that they decided to keep going. Now they do van conversions and continue to build tiny homes on wheels and hope to spread the tiny lifestyle internationally!
Now their first build is for sale. It’s a beautiful 24×8 tiny house on wheels with 2 lofts. It has a steel frame and is ready to go off grid with clean and gray water tanks. What makes Tiny Topanga special are the handcrafted touches such as the talavera tile in the shower and kitchen, and the hand forged copper ceiling lamps.

“This Talavera tile is so gorgeous!”
Your opinion, mine is diametrically opposite. My opinion is they have devalued its sale price by $19 to $10 thousand.
They will find a buyer who agree with me hehe…
Time will tell. Remember nightmares are dreams to… te he heeeee
The overall look of this THOW is beautiful and I completely agree that the metal/wood combo is fantastic. However, I’m definitely not a fan of the Talavera tile in the bathroom nor the red backsplash in the kitchen (at least against the green cabinets which are gorgeous!). Talavera tile just isn’t my “cup of tea” but I do love their kitchen cabinets, especially since most THOW builders now opt for the open shelving instead so to see cabinets in the kitchen is a huge plus for me!
Well, really shouldn’t blame the builders for all design choices. Since most THOW builders are custom builders and thus are only doing what their clients tell them to do.
When builders actually have a choice, unless they have a specific preference, they usually do what’s generic/standard, just like how most residential houses are designed.
This one, for example, was originally something the builders built as a personal project before deciding to go into business making them. Albeit that also means the bathroom tiles were their personal preference but as far as cabinets, most would put them in if they had a choice… They just usually don’t have a choice when it’s custom and being built for a specific client, which this builder’s next build will reflect now that they’re running an actual custom building business, and may look very different from this one…
I believe the price is a bit much for a place with no real comfort seating. The little office could use some storage or a mini loveseat type w/ storage. I’m sure someone will like the bathroom tile. it isnt for everyone.
And it says seating for 6 at the adjustable dining table. I did see the side table & 2 seats. I tried to go to the
tiny Tapanga site , it showed a few pics , then said you have to sign in to see it. Sad if you might want to see their building things to sale. It does look very nice outside and I do like the wood inside. Geen kitchen is ok, but a lighter backsplash is what I’d chose., since everything is a little dark in the kitchen . Love the stairs.
Those tiles are dreamy!
Funny. . .I never noticed those red tiles until you mentioned it. I just thought how wonderfully all the wood, green, and everything else went together. Even the red tiles seem to add to that rustic looking scenario. The entire house is beautiful and warm and inviting. Photos do not always do justice to many things. Maybe the tile in the bath looks better in person, though I think it is pretty already and adds some lovely color. That barn door is a wonderful! Absolutely beautiful!
Nice and my favorite color is red. I thought the red tiles clashed terribly. Different strokes for different folks.
