This is the story of a little A-frame cabin in the Catskills of New York. It’s totally off-grid on a two-acre property in the Catskill mountains. It features solar panels, a wonderful deck, large windows, a chimney, and a very peaceful setting to be in that’s a two-hour drive from the big apple (New York City).
Would you ever consider designing and building a small home like this over a tiny house? Let’s talk about that in the comments! And by the way, you can actually book this A-frame cabin using Airbnb if you want to!

It was an A-frame first and the rest was added on later…?
They didn’t say but it is fairly newly renovated and modified… So that is likely what they did…
I’d have thought the other way around… but mebbe not. Certainly wouldn’t call it little by any means of description.
I’m really interesting in these new home keep me in form all the time
How much was this total cost to build? Is there any insulation in this cabin or can you block the A-Frame part so all you heat is the main cabin? This doesn’t classify as a tiny house does it? So, does that mean you pay the normal rate property taxes?
I absolutely love this place. If it had another bedroom downstairs it would be perfect. I especially like the setting. Too bad its not in Tennessee.
I agree with the others.
This place is delightful!!
Any idea on square footage?
