“A mother lives in a 270-square-foot tiny house with her 2 children and 2 dogs. Here’s what it’s like inside,” is the title of the story over at Insider by Frank Olito who did the story on Amanda Burger and her tiny house life in Florida.
According to the story, before going tiny, she lived in a 2800-square-foot home. After separating from her spouse, she decided to downsize into a tiny house. What do you think?

Probably not the best opening for an initial response to a feature, but does anyone else see the irony of a person named Burger living in a house that resembles a White Castle……..
….buh-dump-bump.
ANYWAY…it is a nice little place.
Its a great exercise in stripping away the “fluff” and getting down the basics of living.
Not a big fan of the yard, but it obviously works for her and that’s what’s important.
Functional, with character. A definite home.
Cudo’s for designing a building such a great, liveable home in such a short amount of time.
A talented individual (with, possibly, a rather rye sense of humour), to say the least.
😂
Cough, cough… that should be Kudos… not Cudo’s. And…. wry, not rye.
Thanks Erik!
I’ll be shure to connect those mistakes next time. -b
Love it! Although she may need to trade up as her boys grow. And while $500 a month is a lot less than rent or mortgage payments and includes all the amenities of a community, you’re basically paying for lot rent with hook-ups for your utilities. I thought the whole point behind tiny living was to buy your property outright. But if she’s living in Florida, I can see why she didn’t–outrageous cost of land!
She’s had this tiny house for sale almost a full year now. It’s in the Orlando area. She first put it on the market for around $75K. It’s been marked down numerous times and now is for sale for $55K. Since she admittedly paid $40K, she will probably get down around that number before anyone purchases it.
