Woah…. $1,200 is very expensive to rent a tiny house. Do you know if that includes the lot rent, Alex? I’ve seen the lot rent at this particular tiny house community range anywhere from $450 upwards to $675 a month depending on the individual lot. If this price doesn’t include the lot rent, I wouldn’t consider this living minimally at that price!
It’s for renting both the THOW and the lot, $1,200 is the starting price then… But renting just the lot is $400/mo. – $600/mo.
If you buy the home then there’s only lot rent… Options depend on availability… While items not included in the monthly rent include power, internet and propane assuming the unit uses LP. Otherwise, water, sewer and garbage/recycling, along with parking, are included.
Thanks for the info James! That certainly does make more sense for those various amenities, including the lot rent, to be included at that overall rent price. There are a few Escape THOW’s that were built & placed in Tiny House Escape Tampa village that have not yet sold.
I live in Gainesville but my youngest child, my 20 year old son Jake, lives in Tampa so I’m down there quite a bit. I’ve been to this village and seen several for sale signs still out but I have not officially toured it yet. There are some very strict rules in this community that don’t work for me or else I would have considered purchasing/living here.
From their website: “The rental rate includes everything except power, internet/cable and propane. There are no other fees.” “Renters insurance is required.”
I enjoy reading your articles.
So glad to hear that!
