The Biblioteque at Treehouse Utopia in Utopia, Texas, is a treehouse built for book lovers. It wraps around a giant bald cypress on the banks of the Sabinal River, and inside you’ll find a leather-filled library with a book nook, a gas fireplace, and a king bed where you literally sleep among the books. Owl-themed stained glass and carved details make it feel like something out of a storybook.

Built Around an Ancient Cypress

Treehouse Utopia has four treehouses, each built in old bald cypress trees right beside the river. The Biblioteque circles its trunk with stairs and a railed walkway, and the tree stays part of the house inside and out. At night, lights under the canopy make the whole place glow.

A Library in the Trees

The heart of the treehouse is its leathery library, with shelves of books, a cozy reading nook, and a gas fireplace for cool evenings. An arched stained-glass window with an owl and a crescent moon sets the mood, and little touches like a carved owl tucked into the wood show how much care went into the details.

A Shower With a Tree View

The bathroom has a full shower with a window looking straight onto the cypress trunk. A mini-split keeps every room comfortable year-round, and there’s free Wi-Fi, though no TV, which suits a place built for reading.
