This is one couple’s DIY tiny house on wheels that they built using 80% reclaimed materials in New Zealand for only about $10,000 in United States Dollars.

Shortly after moving to New Zealand together from the United States, Cori and Patrick decided they would build their own tiny home on a trailer using mostly recycled materials. When you go inside, you’ll find a kitchen with pull-out dining table, storage lofts, living area with a pull-out bed, and a bathroom. When you watch the full video tour below, you’ll get to learn how they used a handful of creative tricks to re-use materials in smart ways throughout their tiny home.

  1. Great job you two! Congrats on your new tiny home may life in it be blessed and blissful! God be with you. I hope you’ll both be happy there.
    Happy Trails!

  2. I’m in awe of this man; he’s really done a great job recycling just about everything to create this tiny house. Maybe he should start his own Tiny Hous NZ company!

  3. It’s an impressive example regardless, but especially considering all they were able to save by being thrifty and imaginative. Well done!

  4. Impressive! A job well done for thriftiness. Love recycling things that can be used again. I do it all the time! Two thumbs up!

  5. Glad to see this come back around as I missed it previously. This embodies what living tiny is all about & they have done a fantastic job. I’m glad they were able to utilize so much ‘throw away’ material. I loved the suitcase storage under the sink & the counter space in the kitchen. Also the crank canopy at the entry. This shows once again that you don’t need to have deep pockets to build a tiny dwelling.

  6. Wonderful blending of all those recycled materials. Love the wood touches, and I really love the slide out bed. Good job!
