A Freedom Teardrop Trailer with an Off-Road Package by Second Wind

Teardrops sit at the opposite end of the spectrum from a 30-foot THOW: no plumbing, no standing room, and a galley you cook from outdoors. What they offer instead is the ability to tow behind an ordinary vehicle and go almost anywhere — which is what the off-road package on this Second Wind Freedom build is for.

It came fitted with a rooftop rack among its upgrades, taking the list price from $17,500 base to $22,370 as configured.

Editor’s note: this 2021 trailer was offered for immediate pickup and has sold. Second Wind is still building — their site is linked below, along with current listings.

Overhead view, you can see the essential rooftop vent fan from here.

So much gear that you can take with you with one of these little campers.

And inside, they’re really cozy and more spacious than many tiny house sleeping lofts. Have you ever been inside of a teardrop camper before?

They’re easy to tow and you can do it with almost any vehicle.

The galley is your outdoor kitchen!

There’s even a sink.

Why Choose a Teardrop

• It tows behind what you already own. No heavy-duty truck required — the single biggest practical advantage over a THOW.
• An off-road package is what makes it go anywhere. Clearance, suspension, and tyres are the difference between a campground and genuine backcountry.
• The galley is outside on purpose. Cooking under a rear hatch keeps heat, smell, and moisture out of the sleeping space.
• Upgrades drive the real price. Base to as-configured was $17,500 to $22,370 — on small trailers the options list is most of the cost.
