Christopher and Merete from TINY: the Movie are in a new video with their tiny house and their story. It’s a 127 square foot house that they built on a trailer so that they can build a mortgage-free life for themselves without having to endure the consumer pressure of owning a larger home.
Just the other day I talked about how tiny homes were featured on Russia Times as a big trend in Real Estate. MSN features this video interview with them on their website. And so the movement continues to thrive as more people- every day- are learning how they can live richer lives with less stuff.

For just a few thousand dollars, they were able to buy land and build their house without a mortgage. Have you heard about the smart family who’s done the same thing?
I’ll leave you with a George Carlin clip (from the 1980s) where he jokingly talks about our relationship with stuff. Hope you have a good laugh!

I was fortunate enough to finally get to see the house and meet Merete and Christopher in person at the open house in Boulder. They’re both great people and very passionate about tiny houses. The house was great and one could tell it was built with love and craftsmanship. “Tiny” is a very inspiring story, the movie is definitely a “must have” for all of us tiny house enthusiast. I have my copy pre-ordered…
That’s awesome Kevin- I wish I could’ve been there. Hope to get to meet them soon. I think I’ll get to see you in Vermont soon, right?
Yea, looking forward to it!
Excellent. 4 stars to the movie!!!! Wonderful, splendid.
Already living small myself here in south central sunny Arkansas, sipping slowly real spring water —
gardening, sprouting and making kimchi in my tiny home, barefootin
PS: George Carlin clip (from the 1980s) was excellent!!! This clip made my day.
Glad you enjoyed 😀
Thanks for sharing the video about our project, Alex. It certainly is encouraging that more and more mainstream media outlets are covering the tiny home ethos and lifestyle, not a a crazy or fringe movement, but as a real, viable and interesting alternative to the way that Americans have been building and financing homes for the past few decades.
And LOVE the George Carlin video. Hilllarious!
My pleasure Merete, you two are VERY inspiring. Glad you got a kick out of the George Carlin video. Somebody had shared it on Deek’s Facebook Group and I just had to throw it in here. So glad that person decided to share it. I laughed pretty hard. Wish that man were still alive. 🙂
Can’t wait to see their movie- I’m sure its going to be great!
Me too!
Once again loved all the tiny houses, an really enjoyed seeing them.I also especially loved the video of George Carlin talking about our relationship with our stuff. It was an absoulte scream, I laughed till I cried! I just got back to my home from visiting ith my sisters for a few days too, it’s about a hundred miles away from me, an one of the last things I said to them before leavening to come back was I’m leavening with more stuff than I came with, I always leave an go back with more stuff than I came with! An one of my sisters said , well that’s the idea. my sisters like to spoil me, an theyre always giveing me stuff! So I got a real laugh out of the stuff video.
Great Vid Alex. “Funny and so true”. Nice home guys I hope it will serve you well, love the way you transported it, Nice safe and with the right rig. Lots of luck with your Video.
