Free Tiny House Plans: 160 Sq. Ft. Rolling Bungalow

Right now I want to give you a tour of a wonderful little cottage called the Rolling Bungalow. Best of all, if you really like it, you can download the free tiny house plans to build it yourself.

If you do all of the labor yourself it costs an estimated $17,000 to build. And you can do so on a 7’x20′ trailer. In total there’s 160 sq. ft. of living space inside without including the sleeping lofts. And the overall footprint is 8’6″ x 20′.

I hope you enjoy the tour as much as I have. And if you really like it, you can even get the plans too! Please re-share and enjoy below.

Nice detail on the plans. Even if you don’t build exactly to those specs there’s a lot of good info on general construction.

Nicely laid out. One question: “Where did they get the toilet/sink combo and the tiny tub?

  • Meli October 1, 2014, 3:45 pm

I love the shower/tub combo, would love to find that. I can’t see it from the pictures but I wonder how the walls n the shower are sealed?

I really wish there were a few more pictures of the kitchen.

    I really like it!

Um, Alex? If the TH is 7′ X 20′ without the lofts, how is it 160 sq ft? Over all, a nice set of plans, but with arithmetic errors like that, I would be hesitant to use them. Unless it’s bigger on the inside than it is on the outside? Mumph.

Mumph indeed… go back and read… it says… “And the overall footprint is 8’6″ x 20′”… so, obviously an overhang on the end of the trailer…

      Sheesh… unSaintly Phlip if you ask me… : P

Awesome that they have allowed us to download not only the plans on this page but several others as well. Gives me a chance to see what needs to be done to actually get one of these up and running.

    Many thanks Small House Catalog.

Where did they get the toilet /sink combo unit?

    • Mark Eberhardt October 1, 2014, 9:19 pm

I Google searched “toilet sink combo” and found several. The one in this TH is a lid replacement from sinkpositive.com and available from Amazon & Home Depot.

Thanks to Small House Catalog for the free house plans!

You can find it here Steve- (Amazon): http://amzn.to/1oDR8tT

Who manufactures the deep shower base and the toilet/sink combo?

  • Mike October 1, 2014, 10:17 pm

Looks like the interesting sink pictured here is made by a company called
    Sink Positive http://sinkpositive.com/web/

I didn’t realize until I visited their page that it uses the greywater from the sink to fill the toilette. Ingenious!!

  • Tiny Living (Barb) October 1, 2014, 10:17 pm

You can get a retro-fit sink for atop your toilet tank at homedepot.com for about $129.

  • Farisa Arnold June 19, 2015, 10:45 pm

What an AWESOME idea that sink toilet combo is!!!!

This has always been a fav. Probably because it’s the size of my intended trailer lol however I’d add dormers for more room in the loft, remove kitchen table and add a nice sofa or expand the front one around to a sectional. AND I could never see myself brushing my teeth any where NEAR that close to the toilet so I’d HAVE to add a tiny sink to the wall in the bathroom and OHHHH A++++++ ON THE TUB! !!!!!!!

Wow! These plans are extensive, thanks! This is a wonderful design, and I love the tangerine color with the white trim on the outside almost as much as I do the beautiful stained wood inside. Thanks for sharing these plans with the World!

  • Gabrielle "Gigi" Charest April 8, 2016, 6:29 pm

Love that orange exterior. If it were mine, I’d use some color on the inside, too. I am a big fan of color especially ehen it is tempered with white.
