If you have spent any time looking at van conversions, you already know the seating problem. A van layout has to do everything a tiny home does — cook, sleep, store gear, carry passengers — except it also has to pass for a vehicle when the road gets serious. The bench that doubles as a bed is one of the most contested pieces of the build, and most builders end up either compromising on safety, comfort, or how cleanly it converts.
The Broad Arrow Seat 2.0 from Wilderness Vans in Lethbridge, Alberta is one of the more interesting answers we have seen to that problem. It is a heavy-duty folding bench-bed system designed specifically for van conversions, RVs, and custom builds, with integrated seat belts, ISOFIX child seat anchor points, and a frame engineered around the transition from seat to bed.
It comes in three widths (500mm, 900mm, and 1200mm) and two fold styles (bi-fold and tri-fold), in black, brown, or Sedona upholstery. Pricing starts around $1,469 CAD, with the configuration driving the final number.

Built Around the Seat-to-Bed Transition
Most folding bench systems treat the bed mode as an afterthought — you get a flat-ish surface, but the cushions never quite line up and the latches feel like a tinker toy. Broad Arrow approached this the other way around. The frame and hinge geometry are designed so the seat back rotates into a flat sleeping platform that meets the seat base cleanly, with the bi-fold and tri-fold options letting builders pick how the bench breaks down depending on the floor plan.

Integrated Seat Belts and ISOFIX Anchors
This is the detail that separates the Broad Arrow from a piece of aftermarket dinette furniture. Every configuration ships with integrated three-point seat belts and ISOFIX child seat anchor points built into the frame. For families converting a van, that matters: it means kids can ride in proper car seats anchored to engineered hard points rather than to a bench that was bolted in by the previous owner. Wilderness Vans is clear that the seats are not crash-tested or certified in Canada or the US (compliance is the buyer’s responsibility), but the hardware is designed around the same anchor standard used in passenger vehicles globally.

Three Widths to Match the Floor Plan
The 500mm version (roughly 20 inches) is essentially a single seat — useful as a passenger-side companion to a swivel cab seat, or as a solo rear seat in a smaller campervan or truck build. It still folds flat, just in a narrower footprint, and works well in compact vans where every inch of floor space is fought over.

The same 500mm width is also offered as a tri-fold, which gives you a more compact stowed profile when the seat back folds forward into the cushion. That comes in handy if you need to clear floor space behind the seat for a slide-out kitchen, gear storage, or a dog bed.

The 1200mm: A Three-Person Bench That Becomes a Bed
At 1200mm (about 47 inches), the largest size pushes into territory where the bench can carry three passengers seated and convert to a respectable sleeping surface at night. This is the configuration most full-size van conversions — Sprinters, Transits, ProMasters — will gravitate toward when they want a true family bench.

The 1200mm tri-fold has the most dramatic transformation. The seat back, base, and footwell each fold independently, so you can collapse it down for cargo runs or open it all the way out for a flat sleeping surface that runs the width of the van.

Mounting and Compatibility
Wilderness Vans sells a separate universal mounting system that handles the hard part of any seat install: tying the frame into the van floor through engineered, repeatable anchor points rather than into raw subfloor. The Broad Arrow itself has multiple mounting hole patterns so builders can adapt it to different floor plans, L-track systems, or factory threaded inserts. Professional installation is recommended — the company is direct that improper installation voids any liability, which is the right answer for a structural piece that has to hold passengers in a crash.

What Makes This Seat Special
- Engineered for the transition. The seat-to-bed motion is the design constraint, not an afterthought. The hinge geometry and frame are built around making that conversion clean and repeatable.
- Real anchor points for child seats. ISOFIX is built into the frame, so families converting a van do not have to improvise child seat mounting on top of an aftermarket bench.
- Modular sizing. Three widths and two fold styles cover almost every common van conversion floor plan, from compact builds to full-size Sprinters with three-across rear seating.
- Multiple mounting patterns. The frame is drilled for several anchor layouts, which means it works with L-track, factory inserts, or a custom subfloor plate without forcing one specific install method.
- Builder-grade pricing. At roughly $1,469 CAD to start, it sits well under what you would pay for a comparable certified European RV seat — and well above what a generic dinette costs, which is the right place to be for a structural piece.
