  1. Wow, wonder if I can persuade my dad to put one in his garden, would move back to NZ to live in this. Only change would be a second set of stairs for the office in the loft. A great idea but climbing bars is out for me, though I reckon my 87 yr old father wouldn’t have a problem. Hideaway stairs a great idea, but what’s under the raised floor in the middle of the THoW, water tanks or something to make it higher? Really like this one, would be ideal in Te Puke or Taupo.

    1. It’s floor storage, she put storage compartments between the axles. The middle one is deep enough for someone to lay down in it and close the lid… When she originally built it I joked with her that she could put a tub in there…

Her youtube channel is under her name, Gina Stevens… Covers much of the original build before she decided to go into business making Tiny Houses.

So this is her first and she has a second model to date but so far I like the first one better…

She put a lot into it, considering they have to deal with fairly strict weight limits there and can’t build them as heavy as we can in the states…

  2. Although I am not a big fan of lofts this one is clever designed and put storage where it belongs down and not up! The sliding stairs are very clever to save valuable space as the loft home office is.
    Well done!

  3. I love how the loft shares space with the kitchen, so she can grab her coffee cup after she is upstairs, and her feet hang down. Also, that side-away stair is fantastic. Impressive.

  4. It looks like a Honda Ridgeline (at least that is the name in the U.S.) towing that THOW. True, or is this some other truck that we don’t have here?
I also like the sliding stair idea. Pretty slick.

I believe it’s a Mitsubitshi Triton which I think the equivalent is a Mitsubitshi mighty max which has a typical towing capacity of other vehicles in this class of between 3 and 3.5tonnes, as someone stated most vehicles here in NZ and Australia are a much lower tow rating and we’re constrained to lower towing weights unless you get a commercial company to pull it

  5. The design of the interior of this house has some very practical solutions to many of the drawbacks to Tiny House living. Thanks very inspiring

  6. There is so much to like about this one. Love the upstairs office. I was part way there thinking I would only want to use a loft as a reading room, tv room with seating on the floor. The foot rest in the office just makes this leap absolutely brilliant. I am thinking I would not have to have a separate tiny to use solely as a sewing room after all. Clever girl.

  7. Hi there,
First of all great house. I just have a question about the stairs. How did you construct the guide for the excerpt? Is there a pre-made slide bar for this or did you make it yourself?
Thanks in advance for the answer.
