Teardrop trailers are compact, lightweight campers that offer an affordable entry point into mobile living. Their small size makes them easy to tow with most vehicles while providing a comfortable sleeping space with a rear galley kitchen.

Why Choose a Teardrop Trailer

  • DIY-Friendly: Simple enough to build yourself from plans
  • Affordable: Lower cost than larger RVs, especially if owner-built
  • Easy Maintenance: Small size means less to clean, repair, and store
  • Lightweight: Towable by most cars, trucks, and SUVs
  • Fuel Efficient: Minimal drag compared to larger trailers
  • Approachable: Not overwhelming for first-time campers or builders

  1. Hey Rickles thanks for that link, what a great resource. I’ve saved it and plan on posting about it in the future. When I got to the site I was instantly attracted to the “winter warrior” what an awesome teardrop trailer!

  2. I have been looking at different tear drop campers and I really like the So Cal. For one they offer a 5X10. I hope to get to the assembly shop,in North Carolina to see one being assembled. There are a couple others I’m looking at to but So Cal has really caught me eye.
