Güte is a tiny house builder in Maxwell, Ontario, Canada specializing in slightly modernized shepherd huts to meet the needs of today’s tiny house enthusiasts.
And, of course, you don’t have to live tiny full-time to enjoy one. Some people just want some extra space in their backyard.
Others might want to create a tiny guest house they can occasionally rent out or let their friends and family stay in while visiting.
But many of us are looking for full time tiny homes so we can live simply, inexpensively, and deliberately create a more enjoyable way of living. That’s why I love small spaces.

Güte was born out of a brainstorm for a space of our own. As we poured over ideas and sketches it became much more. Creating a space so versatile excited us.
It happened naturally – being a culmination of everything we did before perfected in a single mobile room.

Güte is a german word used to describe goodness, quality, a benefit, or an asset.
These characteristics are not inherent in any specific material or method. Quality is found in the masterful harmony between an ideal material and a well practiced method.
Pairing the thoughtful use of the wheel with timeless structural forms, we surpass each’s own inherent goodness to create a space that is truly an asset.
We harness our mastery of construction along with creative and thoughtful design so that generations from now, you will still know it is Güte.

Jeez, the base model is $18000 plus $2000 for the stove. Holy cow
When I checked last year Hobbit stoves were available for about $1300 CAD plus 12% tax in Vancouver, BC. They’re imported from England. Haven’t checked lately, that was enough to scare me off.
Seems impractical, but cute none the less.
Very pretty! Very clever bed!
Very cute but I can get a Hobbit shipped directly to me from Salamander for less than half what they’re charging——and the hand pump you can get from Amazon in a variety of colors.
The tiny stove was what caught my eye on this post — thanks for the info, everyone!
(not that I could afford one at the moment, but still….)
I really like these, particularly the Shepherd’s Hut, since that’s very close to what I want to build for myself. Wish it was 8 Ft wide, though….
