Lessons from This Community

  • Phased Development Allows Community Growth: Building in phases lets developers respond to demand while maintaining quality, and early residents help establish community culture before later phases complete
  • Ancient Trees Create Instant Character: Preserving existing mature Live Oaks provides shade, beauty, and a sense of permanence that new plantings would take decades to achieve
  • Inclusive Lot Rent Simplifies Ownership: Bundling utilities, maintenance, and amenities into monthly rent eliminates surprise costs and simplifies budgeting for residents new to tiny living
  • Turnkey Lots Remove Setup Barriers: Providing landscaping and decks with each lot means buyers can move in immediately without additional construction or contractor coordination
  • Central Park Design Fosters Community: Arranging homes around a shared green space creates natural opportunities for neighbor interaction while maintaining individual privacy on private lots

This looks like a really nice place to live and to encounter kindred spirits. Beautiful!

I love this whole concept. The homes are beautiful, but I’d be reluctant to build this type of home in Florida, due to Hurricanes.

Well, for what it’s worth, Escape homes are factory built and the village is in Florida, and there has been units used as AirBNB’s in Florida for many years. Having survived Irma and other noteworthy storms without issue… Like mobile homes, you can just tie them down to anchor them against severe storms, and these at least are going to meet Florida code for windows, etc.

Though, if you want a tank of a home, that’s what Movable Roots is known for and they’re a Florida based builder. While Cornerstone Tiny Homes is another Florida based builder who does both THOWs and pre-Fab tiny homes that will be placed on a foundation, which is becoming a more widely available option in Florida these days and the foundation units will be single level homes with bedrooms, etc.

So there are options you’d could be worrying more about floods than the storm…
